Glossary
Terms as Fisetra uses them. Where a word has a specific meaning here that differs from everyday use, that is noted.
A
Accessory — A component that belongs with an asset but is not tracked separately, such as a charger with a laptop. Something with a life of its own should be a child asset instead. See Managing assets.
Approval flow — The sequence of steps a document type must pass through before it is approved. Configured per document type. See Approvals.
Approver group — A set of people any one of whom can approve on the group's behalf. More robust than naming an individual.
APPROVED — A document has passed every approval step and its change has been applied to the asset register.
Asset — Anything your company tracks in Fisetra.
Asset Addition — The document type that registers new assets. See Asset addition.
Asset Changes — The document type that corrects or updates existing assets. See Asset changes.

Child asset — An asset registered beneath another, with its own record, history and depreciation.
Company — The tenant everything belongs to. One account can belong to several; you work in one at a time.
COMPLETE — A Stock Opname status marking the end of field counting.
Custom field — An extra field your company defines for information Fisetra does not hold by default. See Company configuration.
D
Declining balance — A depreciation method charging a percentage of remaining value, so more early and less later.
Department — The organisational unit responsible for an asset. Also one of the three visibility axes.
Depreciation — Spreading an asset's cost across its working life.
Disposal — Taking an asset out of active service. It is marked disposed, not deleted, and can be restored. See Asset disposal.

Document Confirmation — The action that submits a document for approval.
DRAFT — A document being prepared. Editable, and the only status that can be voided. Also where a rejected document returns to.

Employee / Asset User — A person an asset can be assigned to. Not the same as a Fisetra login — someone can hold assets without an account.
Event — A maintenance plan for an asset, which generates instances.
F
Fiscal / Commercial — The two depreciation types, letting one asset be depreciated one way for tax and another for management reporting.
I
Instance — One actual occurrence of a maintenance event, on a date, with its own status.
L
Location — Where an asset physically is. A tree, so locations nest. Also one of the three visibility axes.

R
Recurrence — A repeat pattern used by maintenance and Self-Monitoring.
Reconciliation — Resolving a Stock Opname difference and recording the decision. See Stock Opname.
Rejected — An approver's decision to send a document back. Note there is no rejected status — the document returns to its creator as a DRAFT, to be resubmitted with Confirm Fix.
Residual value — What an asset is expected to be worth at the end of its useful life.
Reverse Disposal — Restoring a disposed asset to active service. See Reverse disposal.
Role — A named set of capabilities, defined by your company. Fisetra has no built-in roles. See Users and access.

S
Self-Monitoring — Periodically asking the people who hold assets to report their condition, through an email link. See Self-Monitoring.

VOID — A document cancelled before submission. Only a DRAFT can be voided, and voiding changes nothing on the asset register.
